Zombieland Writers Say Ryan Reynolds Nearly Appeared in ‘Double Tap’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”31054″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It’s no secret that Ryan Reynolds is one of the busiest, sought after actors in the business today. He voiced our favorite Pokemon in Detective Pikachu earlier this spring, followed by an awesome cameo in Hobbs and Shaw.

Turns out, Reynolds was supposed to make another cameo – in Zombieland: Double Tap. According to writer Paul Wernick, the actor nearly played Woody Harrelson’s rival Albuquerque, but had to turn down the role because of scheduling and spending time with his family.

“We made it a goal to do only Ryan Reynolds movies. But this one slipped through our fingers. Luke [Wilson] was amazing and it worked out terrific for us.”

Wernick and Rhett Reese will once again team with Reynolds to write the script for the upcoming Clue remake. Reynolds will star alongside Jason Bateman, who’ll serve as the director.

Reynolds can next be seen in the film 6 Underground, coming to Netflix in December.
