Senior Writer at GeekVibesNation - I am a 50 something child of the 70’s who admits to being a Star Trek/Star Wars/Comic Book junkie who once dove head first over a cliff (Ok, it was a small hill) to try to rescue his Fantastic Four comic from a watery grave. I am married to a lovely woman who is as crazy as I am and the proud parent of a 18 year old boy with autism. My wife and son are my real heroes.

We all know what HQ is. We’re Geeks, it’s in the initiation documents we are required to fill out. HQ stands for headquarters. A lot of heroes have them. A place they can go to research a problem or discuss with other heroes a plan of attack. Superman has his fortress of Solitude, Batman had the Batcave, the Justice League had the Hall of Justice, the Fantastic Four had the Baxter Building, the Avengers had Avengers Mansion. Spider-Man had…his Aunt Mays house? Need to work on that Spidey. So it’s established, we know what HQ is… However, for this…

In order to continue to meet fans needs for behind the scenes information, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Taopoulos shared a behind-the-scenes image on instagram of a Kent family portrait in their home. The portrait featured Kevin Costner and Diane Lane who play Clark Kent’s own adoptive parents in the film. Portraits like this are just one of many details that were spread throughout Batman v Superman set. The production team hoped that elements like this would help build continuity for the cinematic DC universe that was re-introduced after Man of Steel. Although the portrait was absent from any of…

There was a time that Donald Glover had plans to make an animated Deadpool series for FX. Unfortunately, those plans were unceremoniously cancelled. In response, Glover posted a script for an unmade episode, which he appeared to write in response to the cancellation that spoofed both Marvel Television and current pop culture in pure Wade Wilson style. FX CEO John Landgraf revealed at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that Marvel pulled the plug on the series Donald and brother Stephen Glover were creating although he didn’t specify why. “They didn’t want to do the show that Donald…

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a huge Star Trek Geekzilla. There, I said it! My therapist said that admitting the problem is half the battle. (I think I might have heard something similar from G.I. Joe.) But as usual, I digress. The evidence of this is found in my fondness for the Star Trek Novels. Back in the ancient days of my childhood, I used to own a huge collection of the “Pocketbooks” Original Series paperbacks. That included some of my favorites “Yesterday’s Son” by A.C. Crispin, “Ishmael” by Barbara Hambly, and “The Vulcan Academy Murders” by…

Majestic Mjolnir. The mystic hammer of the Mighty Thor. As the legend goes, only someone who was worthy could yield the mighty hammer and thus, the power of Thor. This was true in the Marvel Comics Universe as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the MCU, only two beings have proved capable of lifting Thor’s hammer: Thor himself and the Vision. One of my favorite scenes in Avengers: Age of Ultron was the look on Thor’s face when he though for a moment that Steve Rogers might be able to lift it. But that was Mjolnir. After the events…

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon be facing the prospect of replacing some of its heroes in the future. This is inevitable as many of their actor’s contracts come to an end. Chris Evans has stated that he is pretty much ready to move on from the “Star-Spangled Avenger” after his contract is fulfilled, which is after next year’s Avengers 4. The same can be said for Robert Downey Jr. who has been the centerpiece of the MCU. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige doesn’t seem concerned since he knew this was coming and has a plan in place to proceed into the future. Kevin Feige…

Those who might have hoped Warner Bros.’ adaptation of the hit videogame “Minecraft” would be ready for its proposed May 2019 release, will have to wait a bit longer. The project is undergoing a major rebuild as director and co-writer Rob McElhenney has dropped out of the project — as reported by the TheWrap. “No, that is not happening,” the star of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” told TheWrap. To replace McElhenney, Warner Bros. has tapped the writer/director duo of Aaron and Adam Nee to write a new script based on the popular game. The Nee’s are also tabbed…
