It’s officially International Women’s Day and while I hope you are heading out to the theater to watch Captain Marvel, I also wanted to take a moment to give a nod to the kick-ass women in Netflix’s “Defender-verse”. The streaming service may have canceled all of their wonderful shows, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t appreciate every moment, because there’s a lot. It was hard narrowing down this list to just six and I know I have missed some, but here were the most satisfying moments within the Marvel/Netflix universe that really highlighted the kick-ass women in this franchise. Colleen…

Skepticism certainly rose when it was announced that Black Adam would not be appearing in Shazam! causing many to raise eyebrows at the decision to nix one of the most prevalent villains in the Shazam! world. But, we’re told that there is a script for a Black Adam solo movie, one which is now described by That Hashtag Show. Adam Szytkiel turned in…

If you watched the first episode, which was released right after the Superbowl; you know she is not to be messed with and Marissa (Enos) is far from the character Linden on AMC’s The Killing. As a cold, menacing villain, Enos dives in about what went in to crafting this complex female baddie: “Jon Jones is a super interesting director, and so when we started our dialogue, he spent a lot of time talking about the wicked witch–like being the wicked witch and also being…

While Margot Robbie is confirmed to return and Viola Davis is rumored to reprise her role as Amanda Waller, Will Smith is out (with talks of Idris Elba replacing him) and Joel Kinnaman will not be returning. Many could say that this makes sense, considering that the Suicide Squad has had many different characters throughout the years in the comics and it’s likely that Gunn is looking to expand on that. According to Collider, here are the characters we’re…

We are unsure if it’s a trailer or actual scenes from the movie shown, we’re learning from ComicBook.com what the footage actually pertained. According to CB, we see in the footage that the Avengers are at the official Avengers compound, WITH Captain Marvel there. Can I cue squealing? We did believe that Captain Marvel was most likely the one edited out of the trailer seen during…

There was most likely slight hope in Justice League when the Green Lantern Corp was hinted at, but without a Hal Jordan or a John Stewart, it felt like a cheap way to throw an iconic group into the mix. It does seem though that we might be inching towards the chance of actually getting a Green Lantern on screen and it was writer Michael Green that suggested that Ricky Whittle of American Gods and The 100…
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16619″ img_size=”630×527″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Season two of American Gods is so close now and if you’ve read any of my American Gods pieces, you know that I try my best to avoid the negative comments that always seem to associate itself with the show. It’s very public that season two lost two of its showrunners and two of its stars from the previous season and that the showrunner that stepped in also left. It’s been two years since season one premiered and with the shakeups happening, it’s caused a lot of people to speculate that the series was in tremendous trouble.…

Marvel’s production chief Victoria Alonso tackled this much-talked-about issue, stating that it’s time for an LGBT superhero: “The world is ready, the world is ready.” Alonso then continued to speak about the importance of diversity: “Why wouldn’t we be? Why wouldn’t we be?” Alonso said. “I’m so passionate about this I’ve got to tell you. Our entire success is based on people that are…
