While the 70th Annual Emmy Awards are rapidly approaching, Deborah Riley took some time to talk to Deadline about the various production designs of season 8. Riley, who is up for the Emmy for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Period Or Fantasy Program, has been a part of the Game of Thrones crew since season 4, designing sets like Dragonstone, the House of Black and White, The Pyramids of Mereen, and the Loot Train Attack. Riley, along with her crew, chose the season 7 premiere “Dragonstone” to represent the team’s work at the Awards show. I’d say it was…

Ser Davos Seaworth is introduced in Season 2 of Game of Thrones, as essentially the right hand man of Stannis Bartheon. Throughout his time with Stannis, Davos gets thrown in a jail cell, leads the Battle of Blackwater Bay, and ultimately becomes Stannis’ Hand. However, after Stannis is killed, Davos is left at Castle Black, and becomes one of the leading people that convince Melissandre to resurrect Jon after Jon is the victim of a vicious mutiny. After Jon defeats the Bolton Army and becomes King in the North, it’s Davos who acts as his Hand and right hand…
In the current MCU, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers are not friends, to say the least. Rogers leaves Tony a phone to call him if Tony needs anything at the end of Captain America: Civil War, but that’s the last time the two communicate. We’re all under the assumption the two will meet back up in Avengers 4 and reconcile and all will be good again as they try to save the day. However, in real life, Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans are good pals, as I’m sure we could say about the entire cast of the MCU. But…
Brienne of Tarth is the most honorable character left in the show. She’s been through some rough patches, but really hasn’t been in critical circumstances since she was captured by the Bolton army back in season 3…and that fight with the Hound in the season 4 finale. However, outside of that, she’s been pretty safe. But with the Army of the Dead marching South, she’s bound to be put in danger very soon. It also doesn’t help that she is very honorable and willing to keep her oath to Catelyn Stark to keep Arya and Sansa safe, which could very…
A lot happens in between episodes 2 and 9 of Game of Thrones. For instance, Robert Baratheon dies, Ned finds out that all of Robert and Cersei’s kids were actually fathered by Jaime, Tyrion gets captured by Catelyn after she finds out it was a Lannister who threw Bran from the window, Robb declares war on the Lannisters, Jon takes his vows as a brother of the Night’s Watch, Ned gets betrayed and captured in King’s Landing, Arya barely escapes King’s Landing, and most importantly, Lady dies and Nymeria runs away. But for this edition of Talking Thrones, I’m going…
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2838″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]I’m going to preface this by saying that not only is Iron Man my favorite superhero, but Robert Downey Jr is far and away my favorite actor. So you can imagine the excitement I felt when I heard that someone other than myself thinks Iron Man is the most important hero in the MCU. But sure enough, Joe Russo told Wired “I think, in a lot of ways,he is the heart and soul of the Marvel Universe.” What makes Tony the be all, end all? It could be that he’s been in the most MCU films (9,…

Zemo. These are just a few of the villains shown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last 10 years. “Heroes are only as good as their villain” says Infinity War director, Joe Russo. But Marvel has crowned the ultimate villain, the greatest villain to ever face the Avengers: Thanos. “What makes Thanos so great is his conviction. This is the only solution. He’s seen it first hand on his planet” executive producer Louis D’Esposito says. The movie staring Thanos, Avengers: Infinity War, released…

Needless to say, it’s been some time. However, reports earlier this year were saying that the long awaited return of Obi Wan Kenobi could be coming soon, as Disney and Lucasfilm were planning to make an Obi Wan Kenobi Star Wars film. But it looks like that bubble has indeed popped. Ewan McGregor recently said “There’s no such plans to do it, as far as I know.” However, it’s worth noting that McGregor has continuously offered his…
When you saw the title of this post, the last person you probably thought would end the title would be Jaime Lannister. But sure enough, here I am writing about how I do consider Jaime Lannister a hero in Game of Thrones. While it was by no means an easy road, Jaime went from full on villain to saving grace in a matter of three seasons really. And if I had to point to one person responsible for this change in the Kingslayer’s heart, I would look no further than Brienne of Tarth. However, this isn’t a love story between…
Marvel has made an entire cinematic universe and has dominated the box office since 2008. But behind each movie in the MCU is a director, and in most cases, an amazing one. From Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Iron Man 2) to Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron) to Peyton Reed (Ant Man, Ant Man and the Wasp) to Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok) to Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) to Joe and Anthony Russo (The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers 4), Marvel is really the only studio out there that can say they have the best…
